About the artist
I paint in two languages at once.
One asks for observation: a face, a drop of water, light across scales.
The other asks me to let go: colour, layers, a gesture I do not paint over.
I am not trying to choose between them. What interests me is exactly where they meet — when a face emerges out of a background that is not under control.
